Involvement in communities overseas

Exhibit at Indonesia Japan Expo 2008

Since the establishment of our first affiliated overseas company in the U.S. in 1970 (Mitsubishi Warehouse California Corporation), Mitsubishi Logistics has expanded its network globally to include Europe, Asia and China. We currently have affiliated overseas companies and overseas liaison representative offices in 15 locations. Mutual understanding at the citizen level in each region is imperative in order to maintain and expand business outside Japan. Our overseas group companies value the relationship with the local people and hold events and activities in each area in an effort to deepen mutual understanding in various aspects.
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Indonesia, the Indonesia Japan Expo 2008 was held at Arena Pekan Raya Jakarta in Kemayoran, Jakarta, in November 2008. We participated in the expo as a member of the Mitsubishi Group and introduced case examples of our contributions to the local society and environment, such as our efforts to reduce CO2 emissions.
This expo was held to encourage communication and mutual understanding between Japan and Indonesia at various levels in the areas of economics, science, technology and culture. Japanese companies introduced science and industry-related state-of-the-art technologies, as well as unique animation and traditional culture aspects. The highly stimulating nine-day expo hosted 117 companies / organizations and enjoyed a total of 170,000 visitors.
We will continue to promote communication not only at the company level but also at the employee (citizen) level in each region of the world, and will engage in activities that deepen mutual understanding. We believe this is our duty as a company conducting business so firmly rooted in the local region.
