Objectives

Italy does a great deal of business with Japan in the automobile, apparel, food and other industries, and with the expansion of EU, its importance as the South European gateway to East Europe has been on the rise.
In terms of magnitude of Mitsubishi Logistics business in European markets, Italy already ranks third, only after Germany and the Netherlands. Establishment of the MLE Milan Branch also aims to upgrade services for customers and future business expansion, as handling of air cargo is especially key in this area.

Overview of services

Currently, this branch focuses on international airfreight transportation services from and to Italy, yet provides other services such as marine cargo transportation and land transportation.
Although air transportation arrangements within Italy used to be conducted through an agency, we have now secured warehouses in the vicinity of Milan Linate International Airport, enabling us to greatly enhance transportation efficiency by consolidating cargo from various suppliers. Being in control of the entire logistics flow, from direct supplier support to cargo delivery, enables us to provide an even higher level of sophisticated service.

Future developments

In the future, this branch will function as a foothold to control the increasing capacity of logistics between the Mediterranean area and East Europe / CIS (former republics of Soviet Union). We also aim to gain headway in other distribution areas such as delivery center services related with the Italian automobile industry centered in Torino.

Notes

MLE now has five main centers, including branches in Rotterdam, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Frankfurt.
