Submission of a commitment letter to obtain SBT (Science Based Targets) certification

Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation submitted a commitment letter to the SBT Initiative (*) to obtain SBT certification on February 19.

Our group has placed environmental initiatives as one of the key themes of our ESG management/SDGs response and is working on reducing our environmental impact, including the reduction of CO2 emissions.

In cooperation with the SBT Initiative, we will set near-term science-based targets on a group-wide basis in line with climate change. We will consider expanding the scope of calculating greenhouse gas emissions and revising the target values to make them more consistent with the SBT certification, which is an international initiative. Therefore, we will accelerate our efforts to reduce greenhouse gases, mainly CO2, in cooperation not only with our suppliers and procurement partners but also with our customers as needed.

* The SBT Initiative is an organization that certifies whether the greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, SBT (Science Based Targets), of companies and other entities are consistent with the emission reduction targets set by the Paris Agreement based on the latest climate change science.
